The sign says Mel’s Riverdock Restaurant! We drive over an hour from west county St. Louis in order to come have breakfast here! Remember we have to leave by 9:30am because they stop serving breakfast by 11am! We like to order their Ramp special with comes with your choice of meat, made to order eggs, potatoes & your choice of toast or biscuit. I like getting bacon, scrambled eggs, with the American fries (today they were out do we got hash browns) & a biscuit. I get a side of gravy for my biscuit & potatoes! Then we split a short stack of pancakes with blueberry & whipped cream! Honestly we should only get one pancake but we drove over an hour to get there so we splurge! Their pancakes are huge! If you have room for dessert after that try the pie! It’s delicious! It’s right by the river so naturally there is a river dock! It’s been flooded lately so be safe driving out there!

Susie was our server today. Mom had the fried chicken because she won't make it at home. It's about 20-25 minute wait, but she was ok with that as it was also her 73rd birthday. I had the cucumber salad for the first time and it was really good. More sweet than vinegar, which is what I prefer. I had catfish fritters. They were great and I always love their baked potatoes. The tartar sauce was Kraft from a packet and the dill taste is just too much for me. To be fair I don't like anything dill, so just a personal preference. I don't recall that being their tartar sauce in the past. So from now on back to the brisket for me.

The Riverdock is simply excellent! From the warm welcome to the outstanding service, the food is delicious. It's clearly a favorite among locals, which speaks volumes about its success, even without tourists. If you find yourself passing through, we highly recommend stopping at the Riverdock. Colin and Lauren are incredibly friendly, and the entire town of Hardin is the most welcoming place we have visited so far in the States. There is plenty of parking and great views of the Illinois River. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience. Thank you to everyone!

Plenty of parking ( and its by the river ). Pleasant smiles greeted and seated us. Menu had a good variety. Portions were grand. Food was hot, delicious, timely and, cooked to perfection. Pies looked great but we were all too full to order it ( sadly ). Service was perfect, we had a large group and server remembered every detail spot on. Needless to say we were sad to leave yet anxious to return. May the Good Lord richly bless you all.

I couldn't stop eating the Catfish Fritters. So fresh and light with some thick pieces of fish. My husband really liked the beef brisket sandwich. He said the BBQ sauce was great on the sandwich. We might have to drive the three hours to eat here again!

Great place to eat. Portions are ridiculous. Look at that pork tenderloin bigger than the plate, yes that’s a standard dinner plate. And the service is top notch. known for their homemade pies. A must see destination.

What a great place to stop in and have a meal. It's where the locals go. The service is friendly and the food is delicious. If your lucky you can score a place along the wall of windows to have a view of the water. Stopped in and had biscuits and gravy. Served as one, two or four biscuits. Two was filling for me but I could have easily shoved two more in if I had them in front of me. The biscuits had a great texture and were not hard as rocks like some places. The gravy had a good flavor to them and definitely were not bland. Great place to stop in and relax and have a great meal.
